Ebay selling of gold and items..
Isn't this completely illegal?! How the heck do they get this much gold together in the first place, or are they all just scams?

It is not illegal.

It is just against the EULA, and the agreements you made between yourself and a private Corporation is NOT law. I would hate to see the day come when it is really, so please unkneed your knickers and get our priorities straight

It isn't illegal since, if you read the "fine print", they say that you are not buying any real property but are paying for the time it took their people to collect it. They further go on to say that all gold and items are the sole intellectual and copyrighted property of the developers. That's how they get around it.

I don't approve but it isn't all that different, in a sense, than getting 100k from a guildmate and sending him a book from your home state in gratitude for the amount of time he spent collecting it for you.

I didn't know, now I do. I just find it rediculous that people will go that far for a -game-. In a sense, Anet -could- take these people to court for exploiting their copyrighted material for real cash.

But still... how do they get that much money together?

Farming and botting..or is it just botting? I don't want to be categorised with these scumbags just because i farm XP.
It's not my fault that monsters drop stuff...but i can't help but pick it up, rofl.

I might be tempted to buy some gold from these scumbags just so i can hand them in to arenanet for a nice perma-ban.

These threads tend to grow very large and we've had a few of them. I know at least one is in the off topic forum. Please use the search. Those threads will probably answer most of your questions and give you some more to think about.
